Eligibility Requirements for a Florida Concealed Weapon License
To qualify for a Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License, you must:

Be 21 years of age or older.

Demonstrate competency with a firearm (through an approved training course or prior qualifying experience).

Reside in the United States and be either a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident alien.

Resident Aliens must provide a valid Permanent Resident Alien Card.

Not have any disqualifying criminal convictions, restraining orders, or mental health adjudications.

Not chronically or habitually use alcoholic beverages or controlled substances to the extent that your normal faculties are impaired.

Not have been committed to a mental institution, adjudicated incapacitated, or convicted of certain drug offenses within the past three years.
About the Class

Duration: 3–4 hours

Includes: Classroom instruction, safety training, and live-fire demonstration

Certificate Provided: Upon successful completion (meets Florida state training requirement)

Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old to apply for the license (training can be completed earlier)
